Job Details Job Location Schultes Precision - Buffalo Grove, IL Position Type Full Time Education Level 2 Year Degree (AA) Salary Range $75,000.00 - $87,000.00 Salary Job Shift Day Job Category QA - Quality Control Description Job Summary: The Quality Control Supervisor will be responsible for leading quality control activities, supporting quality systems and processes, and mentoring and training inspectors and technicians. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, extensive experience in quality control, and a proven track record of implementing and maintaining quality systems in a metals manufacturing environment. Supervisory Responsibilities: Mentor, lead, and coach various QC related positions including (not limited to): Inspectors, Technicians, Gage Calibration, Programmers, etc. Duties/Responsibilities: Lead quality control activities, including inspections, tests, and audits, to ensure compliance with company and customer quality standards and regulatory requirements. Lead all required measurement/verification activities in support of local Quality Engineer/Quality Leader and customer required PPAP and/or Aerospace/Defense submission standards including MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis), Capability analysis, etc. Support quality systems and processes, including document control, non-conformance management, and corrective and preventive action. Mentor, train, and develop quality inspectors and technicians while providing guidance and support to cross-functional teams on quality-related topics. Monitor and measure quality metrics and reports to track and communicate quality performance to stakeholders. Conduct root cause analysis to investigate quality issues to develop/implement corrective and preventive actions to address them. Participate in new product development projects, providing input on quality requirements. Utilize various gage types, Calipers, Mic's, Air Gauges, Vision Systems, CMMs, and other measurement devices to provide support for Quality Engineering, customer, and shop floor personnel. Qualifications Required Skills/Abilities: Self-motivated and able to accomplish responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Hands-on experience in quality systems and processes, including ISO 9001, AS9100 or similar quality management systems in an ITAR controlled environment. Understanding of AIAG PPAP process and documentation associated (Process FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, Material Certifications, etc.) and Aerospace/Defense submission requirements. Able to interpret drawings, GD&T, and a working knowledge of the decimal and metric systems. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct formal 8D root cause analysis and develop effective solutions supporting CAPA. Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.) Proficient in quality management software, including Mini-Tab. Working knowledge of Statistical process control and other statistical techniques. Effectively train and develop Quality team to meet company requirements. Education and Experience: 2 years or higher degree in technical related field or equivalent experience. 2-5 years of experience in quality support role. Metals manufacturing experience required. ASQ CQT (Certified Quality Technician) preferred.
