After our materials have gone through the necessary processes, we are left with high-performance finished goods that are ready to be incorporated into assemblies for our customers. Learn more about L&P Aerospace: Aerospace POSITION SUMMARY: Lead in establishing, training, and executing disciplined processes throughout the company, including AS/ISO processes; ensure a high level of internal and external customer service, investigate (and correct) customer issues and complaints relating to quality. This position has primary responsibility for the performance of quality department personnel. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:T he Quality Manager will have primary responsibility for: A supplier excellence program, including supplier auditing and surveillance An effective calibration system. A robust corrective and preventive action process, which includes primary training responsibility for Cause, Corrective Action, and Preventive Action training in the company. To complete (and host as necessary) customer quality audits. Development of inspection methodologies/techniques - to include CMM programming and inspection - to ensure maximum efficiency of inspection processes. Identify proper performance measurements for the department (and personnel as necessary) and visually display and communicate performance for the entire group Ensure the company has robust, disciplined processes and ensure that these processes are properly documented, employees are trained in their use, and that we have a rigorous audit program. Responsible for leading the continuous improvement of our processes with respect to their affectivity and efficiency. Managing and leading assigned personnel, including: Workforce development through performance management and training, including cross-training of personnel to achieve maximum flexibility in work assignments Combining personnel, processes & equipment to most effectively execute work Assignment of tasks/jobs to appropriate personnel. Department budgets & department staffing in accordance with business levels Compliance with company policies and procedures (including ISO & AS) Develop expertise in LEAN & World Class quality assurance methods. Proper performance measurements for performance parameters and visually display and communicate performance to the rest of the Organization Driving improvements to the highest level, including linking individual performance awareness to team performance awareness to company performance awareness. Having the capability and desire to support the Company's key initiatives needed to obtain the Company goals. The key initiatives: Fully implement and utilize MRP Continuous Improvements, including leading, directing, and teaching the Company how to focus on issues critical to profitability and customer needs; and Workforce Development, including evaluating, developing, and addressing all directs' abilities and desires to perform their responsibilities in alignment with the department plans, the Company goals, and the overall mission, vision, and values. Open and honest communication, with a desire to address and resolve conflict. Respect, discipline, and passion in every action, including clear communication and timely decision-making. Establish uniform expectations for the Company culture. Lead and hold their respective organizations accountable for supporting key initiatives through standard disciplined processes and policies, including immediately addressing any obstacles (e.g., process and personnel) affecting the ability to achieve the key initiatives, Company goals, and overall mission, vision, and values. MRP - Constant adherence to MRP system. Identify potential or realized issues to supervision. Workforce Development - Identify training needs (or opportunities) to supervision. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: A genuine belief in continuous improvement and disciplined processes. A willingness to analyze, challenge and change processes, if needed, to create a more efficient environment and culture. Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks. Dependability - Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations. Integrity - Job requires being honest and ethical. Organizational and time management skills. Self-starter with ability to multi-task and prioritize workday/projects independently. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills including ability to effectively present information to top management Management and Leadership experience Computer literate (Microsoft Office, E-mail) EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED: Combination of 10 years quality (inspection) and quality management experience, some of which should be in an ISO organization. Quality Certifications preferred. CERTIFICATION/LICENSE REQUIRED: Various quality-related certifications (e.g. UTC DSQR designations) are a plus.
