Ohio Means Jobs Cleveland Cuyahoga County is sourcing for a crisis center childcare supervisor. Position Description CHILDCARE SUPERVISOR Protect at-risk children and supports families through crisis, strengthening communities to end child abuse and neglect. Major functions: Oversee the daily operations of the childcare floor, supervising the childcare provider team and volunteers to ensure a trauma-informed care environment. Staff Management? Provide comprehensive hands-on training to childcare team and volunteers. ? Oversee daily management of staff performance and address issues verbally and through written documentation. Communicate and resolve issues with the Crisis Nursery Manager. ? Conduct 30,60,90 day and annual performance evaluations on the childcare team. ? Coach the childcare team in the Crisis Nursery Model and ensuring adherence to ODJFS, CARF and policies and procedures. ? Provide weekly one-on-one supervision to childcare team members. ? Supervise volunteers in completing tasks that aide in the completion of shift requirements or childcare. Inform volunteers of communicable diseases, low census, or other shift needs. ? Provide Trauma-Informed Care and utilize Conscious Discipline techniques when in ratio. Monitor the use of these practices by childcare team members at all times. ? Manage the monthly schedule, ensuring coverage for PTO, self-care, floating holidays, bereavement, etc. ? Verify team member clock in and clock out within the UKG system for payroll accuracy. Administrative Tasks? Know and understand rules pertaining to childcare as outlined in 5101:2-5 and 5101:2-9, ODE and CARF standards. ? Communicate shift summary and any issues/problems to oncoming childcare supervisor. ? Ensure volunteers sign in and out accordingly, documenting their arrival/departure time in the binder. ? Conduct a daily walk-through and inspection of childcare floor and playground. Report any broken or damaged items to facilities through a work order. Ensure completion of household and shift duties, review house email and document on the Critical Log by the end of shift. ? Complete and process appropriate documentation including, Critical Incident Reports, disclosures, etc. by the end of shift. ? Answer phones, door, receive gifts/donations and complete the donation form. ? In conjunction with the Facilities Department oversee flow of inventory, report item shortages to Facilities Department and the Crisis Nursery Manager. ? Conduct and document monthly safety/fire drills in accordance with ODJFS licensing rules and report any safety concerns. ? Ensure childcare team completes required training hours (52 in first year, 24 in all subsequent years) in accordance with mandated deadlines and anniversaries as defined by State regulations. ? Coordinate license-required and compliance-driven training for childcare team and volunteers including, but not limited to, CPR, First Aid, and AED training for adults and children/infants, Alternatives to Restraints training, ODE Civil Rights, Qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP), Self-care and Suicide Prevention. ? Be culturally competent and supportive of diversity in both service to clients and through professional interactions. Family Support? Document home, day, virtual or onsite visits and appointments for children with guardians. Document the presence of any guests/visitors, as well as concerns. In addition, as appropriate, complete medication release form including accurate pill counts. ? Communicate status of children to guardians in person or via phone and manage child/guardian phone communications as appropriate. ? Conduct intakes and discharges with appropriate documentation.
