The CDL Truck Driver is responsible for ensuring the delivery of quartz slabs in a safe and efficient manner. Being a main point of contact with the customers, great customer service skills are also required. Other duties would be assisting material handlers to load orders on truck and ensuring truck is in optimal running condition. The successful candidate will be required to train and familiarize themselves in the Warehouse Operation prior to route/truck assignment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Safely operating a late-model sleeper tractor and flatbed between Distribution Centers. Ensuring proper strapping and securing of various types of cargo to prevent damages and ensure safety during transit. Complying with all relevant traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations. Utilizing an ELD system for accurate recording and reporting of driving hours. Conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle's safety and proper maintenance. Maintaining a clean and organized truck, ensuring it is always well-maintained. Representing the company in a professional manner when interacting with clients and vendors. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Requirements Valid CDL Class A TWIC license preferred, not required Driver should expect to be over the road at least twice a week. +1 Year relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job. Must have High School Diploma or GED equivalent Knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving. Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment. Must have excellent safety and compliance record Must have excellent driving skills Flexibility to accommodate different start times Excellent communication skills and ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public. Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently. Able to work with tight deadlines in a multi-task, high priority environment Ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions. Ability to make independent judgments which have moderate impacts on the organization WORKING CONDITIONS: Monday - Friday (Over the road/Overnight runs, 2x/wk) May be required for driving for many hours at a stretch (within employment standards limitations), including unloading cargo, and making many deliveries.
