Position Summary The Director of Government Relations & Economic Development is responsible for implementing, updating, and managing a comprehensive project, outreach, and engagement program with current and new government and economic development partners. Further, this position leads efforts that recognize and promote strategies and successes across both sectors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Implement, manage, and update an annual strategic partners and government engagement plan. Networking with community leaders to identify potential programs and developing plans for funding and development. Monitoring and analyze legislation and policies, represent the organization in government meetings and hearings, and developing strategies to influence decision-making, Determine best practices to formally inform, honor, and recognize elected leaders on an annual basis. Create content and communications to build engagement and relationships with elected leaders and their staff via phone calls, emails, follow-up mailings, personal visits, tours, and special events. Utilize metrics, data, and analytics to drive strategic messaging, personal touches, and tailored impact reports. As part of annual plan, work with Chief Econ Dev Officer in engaging Board of Trustees and the Board Development Committee. Actively manage assigned portfolio of economic development & government partners resulting in retention of support while increasing their resourcefulness through agenda priorities and building mutual value. Lead successful government funding-grant/proposal-strategy with submissions at $50,000 and higher. Qualify strategic partner and government prospects by executing research through creative tools. Other Required Duties Collaborate with our internal Marketing/Community Outreach colleagues for annual engagement events and activities to enhance long-term resource development relationships which undergird retention and impact. Participate in professional development opportunities annually. Participate actively in staff meetings, retreats and Board meetings when requested. May be required to provide leadership to interns and volunteers assisting with economic development and government relations. Execute other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree with five years related project management and partnership development experience across economic development and government sectors. Three to five years' experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems preferred (DonorDoc experience a plus), with ability to create, analyze, and present reports. Three to five years' experience leading economic development projects. Three to five years' supporting government relations strategies. Familiarity with revenue estimating and financial reporting. Preferred Skills Experience working in donor database systems with a preference for DonorDoc and proficient in Microsoft Suite. Excellent oral, presentation, and written communication skills Track record of communicating across government and economic development sectors Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to serving the mission of Advance Community Health and an understanding of the organization's history and impact Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00an - 5:00pm with flexibility (No Remote Option at this time) 8 hours per day excluding breaks.
