The Employee Benefits Specialist is part of the Client Services Team that supports the agency. This position requires the ability to multi-task and complete responsibilities with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail. The main support areas of this role are processing enrollments and eligibility with insurance carriers, answering employee benefit advocate phone calls, and preparing open enrollment materials. This position supports both internal agency staff and external clients. Position requires a friendly attitude and positive demeanor. Requirements Process additions/changes/deletions of member benefit enrollments with accuracy Verify enrollments have been received with group insurance carriers. Enrollments are received via paper or electronic enrollment system and processed via multiple online carrier administration systems. Coverage may include medical, dental, ancillary, FSA, HSA, COBRA, etc. Create open enrollment materials, including employee guides for clients Process ID card requests and other benefit-related questions Answer employee benefit advocate calls and assist with education and/or claim issues Log all activities into the tracking system with proper documentation Assist Account Managers with new client onboarding and enrollment data audits Ensure excellent, accurate, and effective service delivery is provided to all clients and their employees Understand COBRA eligibility requirements and process COBRA activities with outside 3rd party COBRA administrators, as needed Ability to work independently and be flexible with internal and external clients Identify opportunities for process improvement Perform other duties as assigned Preferred Experience Bachelor's degree and/or a minimum of two years of professional experience Experience in employee benefit programs and/or life and health insurance companies is a plus License in Life and Health Employee Navigator knowledge Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Publisher, and Adobe Wilshire Benefits Group offers a very competitive benefits package including: Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance 401(k) plan and company match Employee assistance program Employer paid life insurance Employer paid short-term and long-term disability Health savings account Flexible spending account Identity theft services Generous paid time off Paid holidays Summer Friday hours Professional development assistance Tuition reimbursement Referral program Volunteer day at a local charity Employer paid meeting with a financial planner Bottomless healthy snack basket Team building events and outings Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands, and reach. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with occasional remote days.
