Job Type Full-time Description Installs, plants, trees, shrubs, irrigation, and/or ground cover; removes existing landscape; reads worker orders; reviews deliveries for quality and quantity of materials; conducts soil preparation of organic matter; performs trenching, grading, and drainage functions; responsible for plant identification; performs handwork as necessary using a pick, shovel, or other tools; role models safety principles and PPE usage; operates landscape equipment (e.g., roto-tiller, trencher, auger, skid steer, front end loader, backhoe loader, hydro-seeder, mulch blower) safely; identifies components of all irrigation systems; demonstrates sound water management and water meter procedures; programs irrigation controllers; reports problems to Account Manager; participates in departmental training program as an instructor one time every three months; trains Team Members to complete job within established time frames; plans and organizes work for Team Members on job; completes jobs within budgeted constraints; completes all required paperwork within established time frame; leads operational aspects of a work crew; sets up truck daily with all supplies and equipment needed to complete the days work; complies with the Companys Landscape Care and Maintenance Program and Guidelines; accurately process timecards within required time frames; properly completes, processes, and communicates all work authorizations; manages assigned projects practicing effective and efficient water management; coordinates equipment safety and repair; attends safety meetings; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards; performs Winter Service (e.g., snow clearing, winter watering, installations, pruning) as needed; provides excellent service (e.g., accurate, complete, and timely) to clients, work-site partners, and Akehurst staff in a courteous and efficient manner. Requirements Perform horticulture procedures effectively; use and maintain hand tools and landscape equipment properly and safely; conduct irrigation methods correctly; work independently; communicate and follow directions appropriately; time management; demonstrate employee safety principles; basic mathematics; work well with others; soil preparation; snow removal; provide excellent customer service by ensuring clients' needs are fulfilled in an accurate, complete, and timely fashion by demonstrating courtesy, efficiency, and professionalism.
