#1 Performing Open-Enrollment Network in New Orleans #1 Academic Growth in Louisiana POSITION DETAILS ReNEW Schools is looking for a licensed Psychiatrist to support students who participate in the ReNEW Therapeutic Program (RTP). ReNEW Therapeutic Program's Psychiatrist is responsible for providing compassionate, trauma-informed, high-quality healthcare to program participants. The Program Psychiatrist oversees medication management services, supports clinical team decision making for children in the program, provides family psychoeducation, works collaboratively with the RTP team to improve student outcomes, and may also lead group or individual therapy sessions. This is a part-time position for 1-2 days a week. WHAT YOU BRING A belief in positive interventions and supports and a strong commitment to ReNEW Therapeutic Program's mission providing a therapeutic, positively-oriented experience to students with severe behavioral and/or mental health challenges Valid license to practice medicine in Louisiana without restriction or subject to any disciplinary or corrective action Board-certified or board-eligible in the field of psychiatry Ability to work effectively as a member of a team Willingness to actively participate in the therapeutic milieu, including visiting classrooms and therapeutic recreation spaces and engaging with children outside of medication management appointments Flexibility, grit, and an asset-based mindset Ability to proactively recognize and address obstacles and challenges Desire for continuous growth as a professional and ability to receive and incorporate feedback WHAT YOU'LL DO Principal Responsibilities of the Program Psychiatrist include: Overseeing medication management, including prescribing and monitoring medicines Communicating and collaborating with parents and families of children in the program Conducting psychiatric evaluations as part of the intake process, as needed Tracking and entering services in electronic medical record platform Work collaboratively with the RTP team, including, but not limited to a school nurse, director, special education coordinator, licensed professional counselor, teachers, behavior interventionists, dean, etc., to develop a personalized and comprehensive treatment plan tailored to the specific needs of the students who participate in the RTP program with the goal of addressing behavioral and/or mental health challenges.
