STV currently has an open position in our New York, NY office for a BEB Charging Infrastructure Electrical Engineer in the Transportation and Infrastructure division, part of the Centers of Excellence.The main function of this job position is to provide construction management services for the installation of Battery Electric Bus Charging equipment.Most of the work is performed within a field office atmosphere.The Engineering position will report to the local Resident engineer for the project and corporately to the Chief Engineer or designee in the Systems Engineering Traction Power Department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Ability to review contractor submittals including power systems ac and dc single-line diagrams, metering and relaying schematics, ac and dc control schematics, wiring drawings, substation equipment layout drawings, bus charging equipment, conduit routing drawings, cable schedules, equipment mounting and installation drawings, grounding design, lightning protection design, lighting design, and related power distribution design drawings Able to interpret engineering design criteria and reports Able to review and comment on ac power system and dc load flow, short-circuit, protective relay coordination, arc-flash, step-and-touch potential, cable pulling tension, bus bar support, and cable ampacity studies and calculations Able to interpret engineering technical specifications Able to review and or prepare installation and testing instructions Able to review and comment on construction cost estimates for power system projects Perform onsite inspections, physical measurements, and field reports in live medium-voltage substations, and low voltage distribution areas Attend factory tests, site commissioning tests, and preparing field reports Assist with preparing change orders for new work Interface with clients, utility company representatives, and other departments within STV Required Skills Five to ten years' experience as an Electrical Engineer for a utility, consultant, construction firm or government agency Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering (an emphasis in power systems preferred) Valid professional engineering (PE) license and active registration in the US preferred Experience in the design of ac and/or dc BEB / EV charging equipment and power distribution systems in the electric utility or transit industry MUST have experience with power supply, conduit, and cable design Strong communication skills and ability to work with others, including multidisciplinary staff in different offices Proficient in typing and writing clear, concise, and logical design engineering documents in the English language Proficient at using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint software programs An intermediate level of proficiency using AutoCAD or MicroStation computer aided design (CAD) software Ability to learn and use commercial ac power system analysis software for effectively performing load flow simulation, short-circuit calculations, relay settings and coordination, and ground grid design Ability to follow safety rules in accordance with OSHA regulations Compensation Range: $89,149.00 - $118,865.00 Don't meet every single requirement?
