Meyer Plastics is currently seeking a talented, motivated, and detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our highly skilled team. The Quality Inspector is a full-time position with a shift from 9am-6:00pm Mon-Fri. This employee will be given thorough training enabling them to be a successful team member. This team member will report to the Quality Manager and work closely with the Production & Warehouse Manager to maintain a smooth flow of products and materials in all departments. General Duties : Ensure product is delivered to the customer meeting all specifications given for the job. Specific Duties : 1. Complete all first article and last article inspections for production parts. a. Make sure all critical dimensions are checked and match the print. b. Make sure the form, fit and function of the part is suitable. c. Make sure there is a visual and go/no go inspection done hourly by the shift supervisor. 2. Make sure all paperwork is correct. a. Check all paperwork on the floor to make sure prints and processes are correct. b. Correct and reprint any paperwork that is wrong. 3. Oversee returned goods inspections. a. Check all returned goods to see if they meet necessary standards and critical dimensions as agreed upon when the production run started. b. Determine the next steps for the returned product, either reworkable, scrapable or deemed good and return it to the customer. c. Determine root cause of failure using basic investigatory methods. d. Change or correct the process plan if necessary to prevent issues from happening again. e. Keep track of returned goods quantity and reasons and report to management at the end of each month. 4. Oversee outsourced product quality. a. Complete first article inspection of outsourced product that requires fabrication or machining before it is delivered to customer. b. Work with purchasing to communicate with the third-party vendor for non-conforming product. 5. Check all Meyer Truck shipments before they leave the dock. a. At the beginning of the day, check all shipments going on the trucks to make sure product and material was pulled, wrapped and stowed properly. b. Flag any miss-pulled product and red tag any damaged product about to be loaded onto the truck. 6. Complete quality control paperwork. a. Fill out the first and last article inspection paperwork and record all measurements. b. Provide and help fill out NMR and CAR paperwork. c. Help complete PPAP paperwork. d. Keep a running log of daily activities pertaining to quality issues and solutions. 7. Safety and Security: a. Be on the look out for any unsafe working conditions. Report them to the Production Manager. b. Be aware and correct unsafe work habits of production personnel. c. Report any unusual behavior by production employees to management or HR. d. Be sure no production employees are using cell phones, headphones, or ear buds except for what is allowed in proper use policy while in production area/around machinery. 8. Perform any other duties and/or assignments requested by Management of Meyer Plastics. Must be willing to Job shift, come in early, stay over, and or work overtime with little to no notice.
