Nx is looking for its first in-house Corporate Controller to support the overall management of the Accounting operations and financial reporting process. Reporting to the CFO, this person will work cross-functionally with the organization to implement systems, develop processes, and establish communication methods necessary to deliver timely financial results and related analysis.. This is a hands-on role, while we build out the accounting team and broader organization. What you'll be doing Implement, oversee and manage the monthly close process to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting Prepare, implement, and reconcile monthly close journal entries and GL account reconciliations related to all financial transactions Oversee tax compliance activities in partnership with external advisors, including the annual provision, federal tax return, and state/local tax Lead the company's accounting strategy, including system implementation Drive the development of accounting policies and procedures, including identifying and implementing process improvements and efficiencies Participate in the Budget and FP&A process by providing historical data and reviewing look forward estimates and comparisons to actuals Design, develop, and operate the company's internal control structure Act as primary contact with any external consultants and auditors to support financial statement audits for the company Manage revenue transactions related to subscription and perpetual software sales Lead and provide guidance and support to the Accounts Payable/Payroll Manager Partner directly with HR Operations and Sales Operations as an integral part of the G&A team Support strategic initiatives including diligence processes related to acquisitions and fundraising What we're looking for Bachelor's degree in Accounting Strong understanding of US GAAP and experience with consolidations of multi-entity, multi-currency financials 15+ years of relevant experience in accounting, with significant experience in an established SaaS company 5+ years at a technology startup in a senior leadership role Solid experience with budgeting and cost management control principles Experience with QuickBooks and NetSuite Experience managing Rippling, and Expensify Significant experience at a fast-paced, dynamic environment and managing multiple priorities Strong time management and organizational skills High degree of attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks What we offer Competitive compensation Paid time off Flexible working hours Onsite work in our brand-new comfortable office Employer-sponsored health coverage Working with top industry experts in our international team Hybrid or Remote The role is primarily designed as a hybrid, with office locations in Portland, OR, Walnut Creek, CA, and Burbank, CA.
