Position Overview The Accounting Analyst position is primarily responsible for recording various accounting entries, reconciling general ledger activity, assisting with financial reporting requirements for Old Second National Bank ("OSNB") and its subsidiaries, and maintaining various systems, such as the fixed assets system, prepaid assets, and other assets and liabilities. Essential Job Functions Prepare various general ledger entries on daily, monthly or as needed basis including prepaids, payables, receivables, accruals, and leases Prepare various general ledger and internal DDA account reconciliations Record daily or monthly entries and allocations for other departments as needed, including generating cost center level reporting Assist in preparing monthly reports for the Board and senior management such as monthly financial statements, variance reports, profitability and net interest margin analysis Maintain and reconcile the fixed assets and CIP of OSNB including monthly depreciation processing and quarterly/annual fixed asset and depreciation schedules for regulatory reporting and tax estimates Assist in preparing certain aspects and schedules of regulatory reports for Federal Reserve Bank, FDIC and SEC Learn and develop general knowledge of industry to gain further responsibilities and ensure future growth within the organization Other special projects as needed Additional Job Functions Assist with internal and external audit request compilation Assist in preparation of budget reporting, providing fixed asset and CIP detail Cross-train and provide back up for tasks performed by other Accounting Analyst team members including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting Verify and reconcile third-party (IntraFi) transaction export postings and settlements Prepare project management reports for senior management as needed Other tasks as assigned Minimum Requirements Incumbents may qualify with any of the following: 4 Year degree in Accountancy or related area of study; or Associate's degree (or equivalent) and two or more years of Accounting (or related) experience; or Equivalent combination of education and experience This position is considered a hybrid role. With management approval, an incumbent may work a combination of remote and onsite work to perform the regular responsibilities of the role. Actual schedule requirements may vary based upon business needs. Competencies Computer knowledge, specifically proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
