Performs installation and configuration management of security systems and applications, including policy assessment and compliance tools, network security appliances and host-based security systems. Performs threat and vulnerability assessments, in some cases followed by appropriate remedial action, to ensure that systems are protected from known and potential threats and are free from known vulnerabilities. Performs system security administration on designated technology platforms, including operating systems, applications and network security devices, in accordance with the defined policies, standards and procedures of the organization, as well as with industry best practices and vendor guidelines. Participates in infrastructure projects to develop, plan and implement specifications for network and distributed system security technologies in support of key information systems. Implements or coordinates remediation required by audits, and document exceptions as necessary View the full position description: Qualifications Education**: Associates' degree in a relevant field such as cybersecurity, computer science, data science, information security or related field. Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience): Seven years of progressive IT work experience which includes three years of IT security work experience (a combination of experience and education will be considered). Experience in Network Security, Systems Administration, Threat Detection & Log Analysis Tools, or Identity Management. Incident Response Experience: Demonstrated experience in incident response procedures, including identification, containment, eradication, recovery, and lessons learned. Experience with Security Incident Documentation: Proficiency in documenting security incidents, including incident details, response actions taken, and lessons learned. Ability to prepare incident reports for management review. Experience in conducting security assessments, vulnerability assessments, or compliance audits. Familiarity with tools and methodologies for assessing security postures and identifying vulnerabilities. Understanding of regulatory compliance standards specific to the industry the organization operates in (e.g., NIST, HIPAA, CJIS, IRS 1075, SSA ). Required Licenses, Certificates, Registrations: CompTIA Security+ (Proof required to be submitted with application.) Required Special knowledge, skills and abilities: The employee must be capable of translating regulatory requirements and determining whether or not existing controls meet requirements. This position requires identification of risks to information systems and data, as well as recommending mitigating controls and solutions. The position must understand how to develop and deliver metrics and reports. The employee should be able to understand data analytics. The employee must have the ability to read and comprehend technical information related to software, hardware and telecommunications systems. This position must have ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with users at all levels. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in leading and supervising a technical team. Experience in Network Security such as configuring and maintaining network security devices such as firewalls, VPNs, and / or intrusion detection/prevention systems. Experience in analyzing threat intelligence feeds, understanding the current threat landscape, and implementing proactive security measures based on threat intelligence insights. Experience with Security Tool Evaluation and Selection: Involvement in evaluating and selecting security tools and technologies based on organizational needs. Experience in assessing the effectiveness of security solutions and making recommendations for improvements. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Associate, or other Cybersecurity related introductory-level certifications (Proof required.)
