For more information visit: or LinkedIn/vantage Maintenance Engineer Team: Maintenance Location: Gurnee, IL POSITION SUMMARY The Maintenance Engineer ensures that the facility's equipment and machines are maintained properly and working correctly. This role is required to install new equipment, conduct routine maintenance, and troubleshoot equipment faults on site. This role may be tasked with removing old equipment and training Maintenance staff on equipment operating procedures. The Maintenance Engineer will provide maintenance, electric, and hydraulic engineering services and support. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager at the Gurnee, IL facility. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinate the Inspection and routine maintenance of equipment. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions in the field to determine root cause and required actions to address issues including create of action plans. Responsible for supporting a 24-hour operation including occasional off-shift work as needed. Oversee and at times participate in the repair of mechanical equipment including pumps, gear reducers, seals, bearings, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, blowers, and conveyors. Coordinate / permit work performed by outside contractors, vendors, and engineering consultants. Ensure the safe operation of the facility through proper maintenance of equipment. Review daily work orders, ensuring proper data collection, and provide reports as needed. Ensure all plant maintenance changes follow the PSM mandated MOC process. Provide technical support and training to the crew and create or updated maintenance procedures as needed. Work with parts team to manage stocks of maintenance supplies and equipment Adhere to all safety and performance regulations. Performs other duties as assigned. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE Desired Background Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Maintenance Engineer Previous experience in Chemical Manufacturing industry preferred Knowledge, Skills & Talents Advanced knowledge on pumping, heat exchange, filtration, electrical, plumbing, boilers, chillers & cooling systems and HVAC systems. Expertise working with heavy industrial equipment. Ability to read system schematics. Knowledge of EPA & OSHA guidelines, properly handling of hazardous materials and proper equipment procedures. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, prioritizing tasks and delegating as appropriate. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Strong team player and problem solver. Must be able to lift 20 pounds at a time.
