This position is located at Alexander Correctional Institution in Alexander County, NC. Alexander Correctional Institution is a close/minimum custody male facility. Reporting to the HVAC Supervisor, this position's responsibilities include the following: Provide journey level work in the areas of Heating/Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. Design, install, service and repair HVAC energy control management systems in renovations and construction. Assist in installing electrical conduit and wiring for HVAC electricals circuit. Perform preventive maintenance. Instruct lower-level assistants and offenders in performing less technical repair. Provide technical guidance and support to other staff members in HVAC energy control management. Work by instruction from supervisor, by policies, the NC building code manuals, OSHA regulations, and safety policies. Require great physical effort in the installation, repair and removal of HVAC systems. May work with close custody and minimum custody offender and have frequent contact with offender. Will be required, at times, to perform repairs on equipment's outside his/her specialty. Must be diversified and have general knowledge of several trades. ***This is a REPOST of position .
