K1545 This position is located in NJ and some travel is required. The Risk Manager will assist the director risk management in coordinating the risk management program, including the identification, evaluation and treatment of risk in the organization. The risk manager supports the development of, and manages, a systematic process to identify, assess, and treat actual and potential exposures to loss. Essential Functions •Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson. (Do not delete, move or over-write this statement) •Works collaboratively with the OnPoint Safety and Quality team in identifying safety issues and developing strategies to mitigate risks. •Assists with communication and documentation of errors or serious events in accordance with legal requirements and/or accreditation standards. •Reviews patient complaints which may result in legal action. Works with patient relations manager to offer solutions to patient grievances. Works with billing and compliance officer in deciding on appropriateness of billing waivers/write offs. •Assists in managing the policy process and supports staff with policy clarification and decision making. •Serve as a liaison to the Enterprise claims department for the purpose of reporting potential claims, including but not limited to, professional liability, general liability, property, and auto damage. •Develops and maintains positive working relationships with providers, management, and staff to promote open communication and accurate flow of information. •Reviews and ensures event are reported to the appropriate regulatory agencies as required by local, state, and federal regulations. •Assists clinical chairs and department heads in designing risk management programs within their departments. •Develops and conducts educational sessions on risk management for medical staff and employee. •Participates in risk management call coverage. •Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Knowledge of healthcare regulations with an Ability to function independently in the adoption and execution of standards. Treats all information and data within the scope of the position with complete confidentiality and security. Ability to interact with physicians, administrators, staff, patients/families, and personnel from outside organizations.
