Position Type: Transportation/Bus Monitor Date Posted: 6/15/2023 Location: Transportation Building QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF ENROLLMENT & TRANSPORTATION JOB GOAL: To assist in providing safe transportation to and from school for students needing assistance. Performance Responsibilities: Assists the bus driver in maintaining good student conduct appropriate for pupil transportation; Files appropriate discipline documentation with district administration through Skyward; Assures that students enter and exit bus in an orderly fashion; Gets off bus to assist students requiring help entering or exiting the bus; Escorts all students requiring street crossing safely across the street; Assists substitute drivers by providing knowledge of routes and stopping locations; Assists in verification of student check at the end of every run; Assigns student to assigned seats, keeps accurate record of seating assignment; Assist students requiring crossing the street to reach their destination; Ability and desire to build appropriate relationships with students; Adheres to district discipline and positive behavior strategy plans; Check mailbox before every run; Adheres to district discipline and positive behavior strategy plans; Maintains regular attendance. Certifications: CPR and First Aid CPI de-escalation certification Physical Requirements: Regular Routes Climb 3 stairs, 3 feet in height, multiple times a day; Sit 5 hours a day (1 to 2 hours per route); Ability to get down a 12" aisle, to the rear emergency exit door in a "timely manner"; Opening and closing windows from the inside of the school bus; Ability to carry children from the bus (weights and sizes vary); Ability to exit rear emergency door. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 174 Days Classified position with salary and hours to be established by the Board of Education. EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions established by the Board of Education.
