Position : Maintenance Technician Date Revised: August 9, 2024 Reports to : Director of Maintenance Location : St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church 2016 Willis Lane Keller, Texas 76248 General Position Summary: Responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness, and repair of parish and school facilities. Performs a variety of facility and equipment maintenance duties. May perform various routine maintenance and repairs including basic carpentry and plumbing duties based on skill level and experience as directed by team needs. Principal Accountabilities: Help with a variety of installation, repair and renovation to buildings to including but not limited to electrical fixtures and switches, and semi-skilled tasks in construction, repair and maintenance of wooden structures and articles. Installation, repair and renovation of some equipment including metal and wood equipment, electrical appliances, valves, gas stoves, water heaters, sinks , commodes, hand basins, kitchen appliances, heating and cooling systems, sever lines, and irrigation sprinklers. Moving and transporting furniture, books, and miscellaneous items from buildings. Performs routine truck, tractor, and mechanical maintenance with competencies. Maintains daily work order maintenance logs and works reports which documents time and materials used to complete the project(s). Responsible for all equipment, vehicles, tools, and other equipment. Painting and patch painted surfaces for completing repairs. Remove and replace defective motors and valves. Removal of snow and ice from campus roadways, parking lots, ramps, and walkways. Typical Decisions and/or Recommendations Made in This Position: Determine whether a project may need to be completed by an approved vender or in-house maintenance staff. Recommend the purchase or rental of a key piece of equipment that is needed to complete a project. Determine a particular project can be completed by one person or may take two or more members of the Maintenance Team. Supervision Given and/or Received: Position will be under direct supervision of Department Director. Internal Contacts: Parish Pastor Director of Maintenance Chief of Staff School Principal, Vice Principal, and Teachers Director of Religious Education Business Manager Safe Environment Coordinator External Contacts: Venders who will be contacted to perform work on the parish campus. Maintenance Staff from other Catholic parishes in the Ft. Worth Diocese. Ft. Worth Diocese Construction and Maintenance Staff and Leadership. Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements: This position works in a typical maintenance shop environment but is subject to completing projects outside on the parish grounds under various weather conditions. The physical requirements that can occur frequently are as follows: sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, squatting, shoveling, pushing, pulling, talking standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders. Candidate must be able to frequently lift up to 20 pounds and occasionally may need to lift up to 50 pounds. Travel Requirements: Travel is rarely required, 1-3 times a year. Education and Experience Preferred: A high school diploma or GED is required. One to three years of experience is required, and four to seven years of experience is preferred. Knowledge and Skills Preferred: Ability to complete minor repairs and be part of developing plans for major repairs. Work with parish staff and school leadership to identify ongoing maintenance concerns and any necessary preventative maintenance projects. Ability to work independently. Ability to organize , prioritize, and utilize effective time-management techniques. Working knowledge of cleaning/ janitorial equipment and supplies which would include safe usage and storage.
