Scion Nonprofit Staffing , an award-winning full-service staffing firm, has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for a Director of Development for our client, a renowned community organization known for offering enjoyable journeys of discovery throughout Northeast Ohio and beyond. This full-time, hybrid role is available for immediate hire! POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Development works under the direct supervision of the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for leading all aspects of the organization's fundraising efforts. This role involves cultivating and managing relationships with financial partners, soliciting donations, organizing fundraising events, engaging with donors to foster continued support, maintaining the member database, and pursuing funding opportunities through grants and sponsorships. RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop both short-term and long-term objectives for funding initiatives and collaborate with the team to design and execute related projects or programs. Discover and evaluate new potential funding opportunities. Create strategies for approaching individual, corporate, and foundation donors. Oversee and implement fundraising efforts, including digital, direct mail, grants, annual giving, major gifts, and capital campaigns. Plan and assign appropriate donor communication materials to support fundraising goals. Manage donor appreciation and engagement activities. Ensure accurate record-keeping and tracking of all donations and grants received. Stay informed about the organization's key initiatives, priorities, and successes to effectively relay this information to donors and at public events. Participate in meetings and community events, both internally and externally, as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or a closely related field is required. A minimum of five years of proven experience in high-level nonprofit development. Expert in creating, implementing, and leading strategies for fundraising initiatives such as major gifts, annual giving, grant management, and capital campaigns. Excellent interpersonal abilities, with strong communication skills tailored to diverse audiences, both written and verbal. Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively within a team while also functioning independently. Proven track record of meeting and exceeding ambitious performance targets. Skilled in collecting, organizing, and synthesizing data and information for use by both internal and external stakeholders. Ability to manage shifting priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Must be proficient in using computer programs, including the Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with fundraising software and database management; familiarity with Raiser's Edge is a plus. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: In addition to a competitive salary range of $83,000 - $100,000 (DOE) with bonus opportunities. This role includes access to a comprehensive benefits package encompassing medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees, FMLA, vacation time, paid US holidays, paternity leave, and a 401(k) plan.
