Position Highlights: Location: NCO 1410 N Arlington Ht Rd Arlington Heights / Chicago Land Area. Full Time/Part Time: Full Time What you will need: Graduate of an accredited school in Radiologic Technology required. ARRT Mammography certification and current ARRT registration required. Current Illinois Emergency Management Agency license required. One-year experience as a general radiographer is preferred; on the job training is provided; experience in mammography preferred. Current CPR certification from American Heart Association required. Knowledge of and/or experience in the correct use of body mechanics. The interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively will patients who may be anxious or confused and to interact with physicians and other hospital staff. The analytical ability to determine proper patient positioning and to determine quality of exams performed. Advanced level positioning skills in addition to routine mammography. The communication skills necessary to inform patients regarding examination procedures. What you will do: Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, operates radiology equipment to obtain routine radiographs used by physicians to detect and treat breast cancer. In doing so, positions patients, adjusts x-ray equipment to correct setting for each examination, and evaluates films quality. Tests radiologic equipment and maintains quality assurance records. Performs related office duties as necessary. Delivers and ensures customer service in all aspects to job, being attentive of eye contact, facial/body expressions and tone of voice. Explains procedure to patient, giving opportunity for questions to reduce anxiety and promote trust.
