Position Description: Candidates must have bachelor's degree in civil engineering, at least ten years of water/wastewater project experience, and a New York PE license. Experience with the New York Department of Environment and/or the Department of Design and Construction is preferred. Trench and safety training and OSHA 30 Hour training is a plus. Individuals must have strong communication skills, be self-motivated and able to work well with others. A valid driver's license is required. Typical responsibilities include: Provide and manage day-to-day construction oversight/Resident Engineering efforts on complex water and wastewater infrastructure and facilities. Manage CM inspection staff and the delivery of daily inspection reports in accordance with clients' requirements Review construction work progress daily. Provide daily site inspections to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, standards, codes, and permits Manage office staff responsible for record keeping, general correspondence, compiling and drafting of required reports and deliverables Manage the Contractor payment process and recommends appropriate adjustments as necessary to manage the Contractor Responsible for overall site safety, permit condition compliance and coordination with other stakeholders Use effective oral and written communication skills to effectively lead progress, project, safety, scheduling during construction progress meetings with client Monitor Contractor performance, schedule, overall responsiveness and effectiveness Generate project correspondence, including responses to Contractor correspondence, in a timely manner to avoid delay, to convey Owner's position, and to protect the Owner's interests. Act as liaison to design staff to respond to Contractors' RFI's and review of shop drawings Collaborate amongst client, contractor(s), design engineers, and third-party stakeholders in addressing priority issues to successfully progress construction projects to completion. Collaborate with a local project delivery team and national team of technical experts, including Quality Managers, Project Controls Professionals, Safety Professionals, Technical Leads, and Inspection staff. Mentor, supervise and provide direction for less experienced staff. Review design and bidding documents for completeness, constructability and biddability. Perform, as required, construction administration; schedule analyses; change order development, negotiation, and processing; lead and/or assist start-up and commissioning efforts. Support the growth of Construction Management services in the New York City metropolitan region thru development of best practices, identification of potential key project pursuits and staffing recruitment. Lead development of construction management pursuits and proposals, guiding pursuit team on vision, approach, teaming, staffing, and pricing. Maintain a safe work environment Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering Skills/Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience in water/wastewater heavy civil projects Professional Engineering license in the state of New York required Experience with New York Department of Environment and or Department of Design and Construction (DDC) preferred Working experience with Primavera P6 scheduling and Sage cost estimating software Working knowledge of Construction PMIS platform (e-Builder or equivalent) Working experience with NYC Agencies SOPs for construction projects including NYCDEP SOPs Working experience on NYCDEP projects related to pump stations, treatment plants, and other in-plant works 10 Hr OSHA Safety and 30 Hr OSHA training is a plus Certified Construction Manager (CCM) through CMAA preferred Valid driver's license Excellent communication skills $135,200 - $208,000 a year About Wade Trim: Wade Trim is committed to maximizing the value of infrastructure investments.
