REPORTS TO: Transportation Supervisor JOB FUNCTION: To transport students safely to and from their selected bus stop Hours: EXAMPLE OF POTENTIAL SCHEDULE Monday-Friday 5:00am-9:00am and 1:30pm-6:00pm 25/WEEK Part-time 40/WEEK Full-time (Hours given as available) ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Drive School bus to transport to their next destination Maintains knowledge of assigned bus routes and students assigned to the bus Obey all Federal, State, and Local laws, policies, regulation, administrative codes and transportation operation guidelines Preform Pre-Trip and Post-Trip inspections. Check the condition of vehicle tires, brakes, windshield, wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water and safety equipment's to ensure that everything is in working order. Perform Post-Trip inspection check for items left on the bus, vandalism to the bus and bus equipment. Ensure all students have exited the bus. Secure the end of scheduled route ensuring that vehicle is properly parked and all windows and doors are secured. Complete a visual inspections of the bus and report any bus defects or repairs needed daily. Ability To: Your current driving record must be in good status (not suspended, disqualified or revoked) Must have dependable transportation to and from work. Must have the ability to obtain a CDL License with P/S endorsement Must be able to perform essential functions of the job Exercise responsible leadership. Communicate in a professional and positive manner at all times with parents, staff, students, school officials and any other individual you may come in contact with. Maintain current updates on jobs duties and equipment. Commute/Relocate Charlotte, NC: reliable transportation to commute to and from work and/or relocate (if needed) before starting position Experience / License-Certification School Bus Driving (preferred) CDL (preferred) P-passenger and S-school bus endorsements Qualifications Have a good driving record Be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver license with at least 6 months experience Class B CDL with a P & S endorsement (preferred) Ability to complete a School Bus Driving Class and training with the Department of Motor Vehicle Ability to follow direction written or oral Transportation 1 year (preferred)
