The Cathedral of Mary Our Queen is located in the Homeland neighborhood of Baltimore City with additional facilities in Rogers Forge, Govans, Mount Washington, and Hamden. It serves approximately 1,300 registered families and is host to many Archdiocesan liturgies and events throughout the year. The School of the Cathedral forms an integral part of the parish with an enrollment of 350 students. Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician will support in the maintenance of the buildings, grounds, and equipment across the Cathedral campuses. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for responding to and completing work orders and assisting in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and carpentry projects and repairs. Essential Functions Performs basic and routine maintenance, construction, and repair tasks according to service, quality, and safety standards. Assist with miscellaneous facility projects, including painting, drywall, and carpentry, installation of fixtures and moving furniture or materials within the facilities. Maintaining organization in Facilities spaces Consistently communicating work progress or any problems to the Facilities Manager Utilizing Personal Protective Equipment and practicing safe work habits, including lock-out/tag-out Snow removal and other seasonal tasks, as required Position Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required. Must possess a valid driver's license with no more than three current points. A minimum of 5 years of commercial or institutional experience in the identified primary field. Must be able to move office furniture and other items weighing up to 25 pounds, and to move items of heavier weight with the use of assistive equipment; to move about within very tight spaces where large and potentially dangerous equipment is stored; to operate various types of manual and power tools and automated systems; and to ascend/descend a ladder as needed.
