Position Summary: As a member of manufacturing's team, the Process Engineer - New Products integrates manufacturing process, equipment design, product formulations, and procedures to drive successful scale-up of new product designs from development to production. Additionally, this position will assist with efficiencies, product quality, and material yields. Position Requirements/Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Chemical/Materials Engineering preferred) Experience: 5 years of relevant work experience (preferably 7) in the polymer compounding, plastics, color & functional master batch industry Solid extrusion knowledge required (twin screw preferred) Proactive leadership in manufacturing process evaluation and leading improvement actions Lean, Six Sigma Green Belt desirable Skills: AutoCAD proficiency required Allen Bradley controls knowledge a plus Essential Duties: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Leads new product / project development and scale up activities as it relates to the company's targeted New Business Opportunities (NBOs) Provides employee training on new equipment, processes, or procedures for successful development to production turnover projects; Manages and implements projects ensuring quality, timeliness, and achievement of cost targets; Provides hazard and operability studies to ensure that safety, engineering, and proper ergonomics are designed into new or revised processes and equipment; Assists in the development of product specifications; Assists with the identification, development, and implementation of innovative, cost-reducing improvements to manufacturing processes; Assists with the Identification implementation of process and quality improvements in current processes; Communicates effectively with other departments and customers to achieve goals; Additional Position Responsibilities Improves job knowledge by attending training and keeping relevant knowledge and skills current; Demonstrates organizational skills by working independently and with a team; Contributes to organization success by meeting team and company goals; Follows all quality system and safety protocols by safely operating equipment, wearing proper protective equipment (PPE), completing safety training, keeping work areas clean and organized, and contributing to established safety goals.
