Title: Junior Privacy Act (PA)/Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Analyst Duration: Long Term Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid) ONLY USC Max rate: $41/hr on W2 Min years of experience: 5 years Client: Federal Responsibilities: As a Junior Privacy Act (PA)/Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Analyst in the Discovery and Disclosure group, in the role of a Junior PA/FOIA Analyst, you will assist a federal agency with responding to PA/FOIA requests including but not limited to the following responsibilities: Utilize the PA/FOIA processing system to complete all tasks necessary to verify, perfect, review, and respond to PA/FOIA requests. Receive, review, and analyze new PA/FOIA requests and determine if they are sufficient to process based on the FOIA and/or PA. Conduct record searches and apply lawful exemptions and redactions. Release responsive records to requesters within prescribed timeframes. Process complex PA/FOIA requests by applying lawful exemptions and redacting responsive records in compliance with PA/FOIA policy and established program procedures and practices. Prepare correspondence with requestors and prepare the final document packages. Release redacted responsive records to the requester, researching and analyzing sensitive classified and controversial data to make pertinent FOIA determinations, and evaluating various correspondence and reports to determine FOIA applicability and associated polices. Track and manage PA/FOIA requests from receipt to production in an electronic case management system. Work independently and be accustomed to effectively and efficiently working at a high-performance level with minimal input from program leadership. Support Implementation and Operations Management best practices Perform analysis and diagnosis of client issues Demonstrate a foundational understanding of the client environment and overall project scope Identify and solve problems using analysis, experience, and judgment Work as part of a team and in a team environment that is process-oriented and deadline-driven Use professional oral and written communication skills Required Skills: Ability to obtain and maintain the required Public Trust tier IV - high risk background investigation security clearance for this role. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future Preferred: Prior professional services or federal consulting experience Associate or bachelor's Degree Experience processing FOIA/PA requests or litigation-related document review requests either at the federal service or equivalent public or private sector Familiar with the nine (9) FOIA exemptions and the nine (9) PA exemptions Experience/familiarity with following FOIA and PA tools: Thanks & Regards
