Automation & Control Engineer

We want you to join our team! Job Responsibilities: Respond timely to all customer inquiries, which include requests for quotes, product information, and technical support. Work closely with Engineering, Inside Sales, Outside Sales, and our manufacturing representatives to assist in growing and retaining customer business. Assist the Business Development Specialists with our Northern Illinois customer base. Develop and maintain relationships with assigned suppliers. Apply product knowledge appropriately by suggesting application solutions. Provide Gold Medal customer service to internal and external customers. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Skills: Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field is desired. Experience in industrial automation products including PLCs, AC Drives, Motion, Sensing, and HMIs is preferred. Experience in distribution or working knowledge of industrial automation and controls is preferred. Must possess the desire to learn the industrial automation business with a leading wholesale electrical distributor. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and associates within the organization. Must have a valid driver's license and personal transportation for customer visits.
