Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled SUMMARY Stampede Ventures Inc., a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation, is currently seeking a qualified Cost Estimator for our Norfolk/Virginia Beach portfolio. This position supports the Business Development Estimating Team in generating complex project cost spreadsheets for pricing proposals in response to government RFPs and discussions with customers. Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned The Cost Estimator will work with functional area experts to determine necessary resources for projects. Gathers details and then compiles and analyzes data to estimate all project performance costs to meet government specifications. Develops aggressive and competitive proposals to address government customer requirements in a cost-effective manner. Develops and employs costing factors and methodologies for materials, equipment, tools, labor, and vehicles. Tailoring and comprehending developed work breakdown structures based on solicitation workload and manipulate cost models in response to all solicitation types, Base Operations Support Services, Facility Operations & Maintenance, Information Technology, Security, Aircraft Maintenance, etc. Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. Required (Minimum) Qualifications A bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Accounting or related field is also desired. Must have advanced proficiency in Procore, Sage, MS Excel, or a similar estimating database is mandatory. Must be detail and task oriented, self-motivated with the inherent ability to multitask, work under pressure, meet deadlines and work as team member. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics Knowledge of Service Contract Act, Collective Bargaining Agreements, Davis Bacon, Defense Base Act, Federal Acquisition Regulations, and other Government-related applicable standards and regulations is desirable. Comprehension of request for quotes and solicitations and requirements within. Ability to comprehend and modify Work Breakdown Structures Understanding of light workload data and how to compile it into a cost estimate. Ability to write and edit compliant and responsive cost narratives utilizing MS word. Preferred 3-5 years experience with cost estimate development, payroll, job costing or related field preferred. NECESSARY PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment. Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 25 pounds occasionally Must be able to respond quickly to sounds. Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces. Must be able to see and respond to dangerous situations. Must be able to wear personal protective gear when required for periods of time. Must be able to work in cold environments and on concrete floors. Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain. DOT COVERED/SAFETY-SENSITIVE ROLE REQUIREMENTS This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation safety-sensitive functions. WORK ENVIRONMENT Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The job is performed as a hybrid, 80% working from home (WFH) and 20% in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily in a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required. Site Visits will be required including gaining visitor access to DoD bases in the Mid-Atlantic Region. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No supervisory responsibilities. ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations. Shareholder Preference.
