Job Description Job Summary The Safety Advisor will follow MAREK's processes and procedures while working under the direct guidance of the Safety Team and onsite Field Supervisors and/or other high-level team members. The Safety Advisor has the responsibility to practice onsite accident prevention, assist with safety documentation and always promotes MAREK's safety culture. Job Duties & Responsibilities Safety Duties: Accident Prevention •Monitors and coaches employees for safety onsite •Assists with site risk assessments •Responsible for ensuring site specific safety requirements are meet Safety Documentation •Assists with site safety audits •Creates reports in safety platform (E-compliance) •Conducts routine tool inspections •Assist supervisor with jobsite Tool Box Talks and Stretch & Flex. •Ensures Task Hazard Analysis are being completed accurately Incident Management •Assists safety supervisor with incident investigations •Responsible with documenting safety meetings Lead •Partners with onsite safety supervisor to promote safety culture at all times •Trains employees in safe production practices •Ensures safety is the number one priority for themselves and others by following MAREK safety policies. General Duties: •Able to work different schedules in varying location as needed per management/production needs. •Perform other job duties as assigned. Job Qualifications Education:/ Experience: •2+ years' experience in construction industry and/or carpentry trade •Demonstrates knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA guidelines. •Fundamental knowledge and understanding of carpentry principles and construction math. Skills: •Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions. •Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, and other equipment •Ability to read and understand building plans and specifications •Communicates and works well with others •Ability to multi-tasks in a fast-paced environment •Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Working conditions •Indoor and outdoor work environment with exposure to various weather conditions and temperatures such as inclement weather, heat, humidity, and cold •Exposure on a regular basis to the following: chemicals, dust, fumes, fiberglass insulation and other airborne particles from construction equipment. •Exposure to vibrations from construction equipment and typical construction noise that may exceed normal decibel levels. Physical requirements •Continuous standing, walking, kneeling, bending, stooping, reaching. •Good manual dexterity to perform precision adjustments of machinery parts and controls. •Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds in a regular basis. Ability to set up specialized equipment, tools or materials that could weight up to 100 lbs. •Able to perform a full range of body movements including the use of hands to handle, install, position, and move and manipulate equipment. •Required to wear personal protective equipment: safety glasses, steel toe footwear and any other Marek/GC mandated PPE. •Ability to work at various heights Direct reports This position does not have direct reports.
