Phlebotomist Lubbock 38992BR Position Description Draws blood from patients in correctional hospital facility for analysis or other medical purposes. Major/Essential Functions Conduct phlebotomy services for patients with lab orders from a medical provider or authorized clinician. Effectively manage the collection, storage, and transport of lab samples and specimens to ensure successful testing. Timely, concisely, and appropriately document activities in patients' records and other health information systems as required. Coordinate and/or order required lab supplies according to departmental guidance and standards. Ensure equipment is functional and safe; immediately report any sub-optimal operation of lab equipment and/or technology and follow departmental standards for reporting. Performs other duties as required or assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
