About the job Logistics Coordinator We are looking to hire a Logistics Coordinator Based in New Jersey, New York, USA | Position Code: LOC - 0724 About VIPA VIPA USA is seeking a strong candidate for the day-to-day Logistics export operations in the New Jersey, New York area. This great candidate will work directly with the Purchasing Team (Traders), Logistics USA Team, and our back-office team from Thessaloniki, Greece Why VIPA? Responsibilities Maintain good business communication with all Ocean Carriers, trucking companies, suppliers and other outside vendors. Accountable for preparing ocean export bookings and inquiring for tentative shipping schedules according to suppliers shipping needs and Sales Order Contracts. Prepare and send booking instructions to multiple suppliers and truckers to arrange the loading of the materials based on Sales Order Contracts restrictions. Track and trace all shipments via ocean, rail and truck. Be able to help the suppliers and truckers with any issues they might encounter with the booking on hand. Logistics Coordinator will create in the system and issue the Purchase Order (PO) to the supplier based on the information provided by the Trader. Responsible to communicate with supplier on daily basis to schedule the pickup of the material and make sure material is moving/loading with no issues. Monitor and make sure all POs are shipped/completed on time under the correct Sales Order Contracts. Maintain thorough records of how many tonnages have been shipped per PO and provide information to Traders and Sales team. Monitor packing of shipments with multiple suppliers and trucking companies. Accountable for negotiating and comparing trucking rates. These rates are from suppliers facilities directly to the rail ramp or to the port of loading. Extensive daily communication with our back-office team from Greece. Communication will vary from helping to obtain packing list from suppliers after they load the material or helping our accounting department to receive a revised invoice from a supplier to process payments. Maintain and update all data from suppliers, shipping lines, truckers or any outside vendor in our system accurately. Perform other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate Experience of 2+ years in a similar role. Holder of Bachelors 3-5 years Degree Strong oral and communication skills. Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines. Able to take directions accordingly. Strong attention to detail and have the ability to solve problems. Great people sills with the ability to build relationships within and outside the organization.
