Cherokee Town & Country Club in Atlanta, GA is seeking to hire a full-time Sous Chef to join our kitchen staff in managing our line cooks and preparing delicious food for our loyal members. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SOUS CHEF As a Sous Chef in the kitchen of Cherokee Town and Country Club, you are the heart of our restaurant. You are passionate about good food and exceeding our members' expectations. You are Responsible for execution of food items to ensure members are satisfied. Consult with the Executive Chef or Chef De Cuisine concerning the daily menu and parties. You are responsible that all culinarians are briefed daily to assure maximum efficiency. Responsible that food production is kept within the set quality standards. Cook food that required skillful preparation sus as roasts, stews, sauces and soups. As the Sous Chef, you will taste all cooked food, either portions of cooked food, or give instructions as to the size of portions and methods of garnishing; carves meats. Cuts, trims, bones, lards, or otherwise prepare meats and poultry for cooking, making individual cuts of meat to a specified size or weight, utilizing every portion of the carcass. You will Assists with the Executive Chef and / or Area Chef in any way as directed. Lastly, you will maintain safety and security in the workstation. QUALIFICATIONS Serve safe certification At least 2 years prior restaurant experience. A culinary degree or ACF equivalent is preferred. Must be able to stand long durations. Able to understand and communicate in English. Must be able to communicate effectively with team members and managers. Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. A culinary degree or ACF equivalent is preferred. Do you work well as part of a team? Do you have excellent customer service skills and a love for hospitality? Can you understand and communicate in English? Are you quick on your feet and able to work in a fast-paced environment? Can you maintain a complete day-to-day knowledge of our menu's preparation and presentation? If so, you may be perfect for this position! WORK SCHEDULE The typical schedule for this full-time culinary management position is Tuesday - Sunday with AM shifts available .
