POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Accounting Manager is responsible for all accounting operations of the Diocese. This role will work closely with senior management in managing overall financial strategy of the diocese. In addition to maintaining financial integrity of the Diocese books, Accounting Manager serves as primary fiscal contact for the Trustees of the Diocese and for the parish treasurers. This role requires a strong understanding of non-profit accounting principles. Duties and Responsibilities:Finance and Budget OperationsManage and account for the operating, designated, restricted and endowment funds of the DiocesePrepare financial reports for identified stakeholders including the Trustees, Commission on Finance, and Executive Council Manage annual budget process for Diocese and selected entities withinPrepare annual reports to The Episcopal ChurchCoordinate annual external audit of Diocesan financial accountsPrepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by leadershipAct as primary liaison with 3rd party investment managerComply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), auditing principles and internal controlsAdditional RequirementsWork collaboratively with other members of the Diocesan staffEnsure appropriate confidentiality with personnel, financial records and personal matters, which are entrusted to the Finance DepartmentFamiliarity with the Episcopal Church helpful but not requiredExperience and CompetenciesAccounting degree required, CPA license preferred4 or more years of accounting experience is required3 years in a supervisory role is preferred but not requiredExperience and competency using various software and accounting systemsBenefitsHealth insurance ($0 employee contribution for single plan)10% automatic contribution to 403B on top of salaryPlease send a cover letter and resume to Mike Shapiro at : What is listed above is representative of the position's responsibilities but is not meant to be an exhaustive list.
