Opportunity to join a global leader in energy as an HVDC Specialist for their flagship US Offshore Wind project.What You'll Bring:Experience: 15+ years in HVDC & FACTs project delivery. A Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering is a plus. Professional Engineering licensure is preferred but not required.Technical Skills: Proficiency in electromagnetic transient software, Mathcad, MATLAB, AspenCAPE, PSSĀ®EPSLF, and other power systems engineering tools. Experience transitioning from study phase to detailed engineering and commissioning of HVDC projects.Expertise: In-depth knowledge of HVDC converter technologies (VSC, LCC), FACTS technologies (STATCOM, SVC, Sync Condenser), and related IBR integration.Project Management: Proven experience in managing projects, from power system studies to design and execution of transmission systems (69kV and higher).Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics to non-technical audiences.Your Role:Technical Leadership: Provide expertise in HVDC configurations and technologies, including VSC, Symmetrical, Monopole, Bipole, and STATCOMs.Engineering Excellence: Lead engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning efforts, including hardware-in-the-loop, factory acceptance tests, and on-site testing.Research & Development: Conduct complex research on HVDC equipment and control methods, exploring innovative solutions.Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the project as the HVDC Subject Matter Expert in technical discussions and pliance & Standards: Ensure design compliance with industry standards (IEEE, ANSI, PJM, IEC, CIGRE) and regulatory requirements.Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior staff in HVDCFACTS and other engineering disciplines.Activities:Lead the development and implementation of HVDC technical specifications.Review and approve engineering, procurement, and construction documents.Manage external consultants and provide technical guidance.Participate in conferences and forums to discuss transmission, HVDC, and FACTS.Assist in defining project schedules and updating engineering standards.Travel between company offices and project facilities as needed.
