Packaging mechanic provides mechanical, electrical and controls support to the Packaging department as needed; including troubleshooting, preventative maintenance (PM), changeover, modifications and repair of line equipment.Packaging Mechanic Duties & ResponsibilitiesEffectively and accurately troubleshoot and make routine adjustments and repairs to industrial equipment and machinery to maintain production and maintenance schedulesKnowledgeable in equipment trouble shootingDisassemble machinery and equipment to determine worn or broken parts, repair or replace necessary parts by using new parts from stock or by fabricating or manufacturing new parts from stock or by fabricating or manufacturing parts to machinery or equipmentContinually check equipment and machines for proper function for quality, safety and quantityPerform preventative and predictive maintenance as assigned, including cleaning and lubricating to maintain the proper working order of industrial equipment and machineryDismantle, evaluate, and rebuild equipment and machinery as neededAssist in the Planning process by identifying parts and work required using SAP to enter notificationsReviews schedule with production and assist in changeovers Packaging Mechanic QualificationsPrevious experience with food or pharma manufacturing company as mechanic for at least 5 yearsEffective interpersonal skillsAble to work weekend and overtime as neededBe aware of and understand current safety regulation and company guidelinesEducation for Packaging MechanicPreferred high school diploma or equivalent. Skills for Packaging Mechanic (Include but not limited to): Capable of conducting root-cause analysis on breakdowns and stops during productionElectrical and electronics controlsBasic motor control circuitryLogic and troubleshootingMechanical electrical associated with Packaging EquipmentOSHA regulationsPLC operation"Sequence of operation" of equipment within the area of responsibilityAdjustmentsCGMPEquipment trouble shootingDesired experience:CMMS andor work order system experience Parts ordering and Vendor contact Welding and Shop experienceDemonstrates the ability to provide timely feedback to Management on work, procedures, schedules and improvements. Overall maintenance and repair of process and production equipmentAble to multi task with a can do attitudeMaintenance and repair of the mechanical equipment such as motorsPerform Line change over, Set up, Start up, Line trails Excellent communication skillsBi-lingual a plus
