JAE ELECTRONICS, INC.JOB DESCRIPTIONJOB TITLE: Product Marketing Manager (Aerospace)DEPARTMENT: Sales & MarketingREPORTS TO: Director, Business Development & EngineeringSUPERVISES: Sales RepresentativesPOSITION TYPE: ExemptGENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:The Product Marketing Manager will be responsible for leading new business initiatives to expand the Aerospace Division of JAE into markets outside of the downhole oil & gas industry. This individual will be responsible for identifying markets and applications for the Aerospace Division's products, marketing the Aerospace Division's non-oil products, managing and supporting multiple teams of sales representatives, and directly engaging with new and existing customers. This individual should have a record of success in expanding company objectives and exceeding business goals, excellent presentation and communication skills, and should have experience in "greenfield" business development (not just maintaining existing accounts).This individual should have a solid understanding of and be able to effectively interface with customers and internal stakeholders on the following topics:Basic principles and construction of accelerometers, gyroscopes, and IMUsMotion sensor applications (navigation, vibration control, seismic sensing, etc.)Market analysis (understanding product requirements, market trends, estimating market size, understanding competition in the market, etc.)Product marketing (creating marketing materials, social media promotions, digital advertising, trade show preparation, etc.)The Product Marketing Manager must be able to effectively communicate with people from a wide variety of backgrounds, technical skill levels, and cultures. They must be able to gather information from multiple sources, effectively relay technical information, and work with both engineers and procurement professionals to address their needs. They must also be driven to seek out opportunities and leads in often obscure and niche markets.MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:Develop new business opportunities with key accounts.Manage multiple teams of commission-based sales representativesIdentify new markets and applications for the Aerospace Division's productsActively manage the marketing of the Aerospace Division's non-oil and gas productsPerform short, mid, and long term business planning and forecastingProvide recommendations to and coordinate with JAE leadership and Engineering about market trends and new product opportunitiesTravel to customer locations and to Japan, as needed, for training, meetings, etc.Participate in industry trade association meetings and committees as deemed necessary by the JAE management.Represent JAE at various industry trade shows.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES&PERCENTDevelopment of new business opportunities 35Support of sales representatives 35Identification of new markets and applications 15Marketing of the company and products 10Establishing and maintaining short, mid, and long term plansforecasts 5CORE COMPETENCIES:New business development (finding and cultivating leads)Technical product knowledgePresentation skillsCommunication skillsClient managementSales rep. managementTime management skillsQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:Education: Bachelor's Degree in ScienceEngineering, Business or Marketing are acceptable; Electronic Engineering major is preferredExperience:0 ~ 5 years of experience in business development for technical products (preferably in an Aerospace or motion sensing field) preferred.Japanese language knowledge preferred.We are looking for a candidate who has friendly positive outgoing personality and attitude.BUSINESS TRAVELThis position will require regional travel and some international travel. Travel may be required up to 30% of the time.PHYSICAL DEMAND:This position requires lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally.
