Location: OnsiteComp range: Competitive baseStart: As soon as possibleMUST:Bachelor's Degree + 2 years of engineering design experience OR associates + 5 years of engineering design experienceBachelors needs to be in one of these: Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, engineering technology, civil engineer, or anything related to mechanical engineering, NOT electrical, not chemical, plus 2 years' experience is requiredAssociate's degree should be in drafting, technical drawing, or a related degreeExperience in one or more of the following specialties: piping design, HVAC duct design, steel outfittingdesign (including handrails and incline ladders), and foundations for deck machinery and cranes.At least 2 years of hands-on experience with engineering drawings, including design, reading, and creating drawingsAt least 2 years of experience working within AutoCAD (will use it occasionally if they need to sketch something quick, will analyze CAD drawings that another team produces)Ability to do markups within adobe and 3d models and analyzing 3d modelsKnowledgeexperienceinterest with ship designshipbuilding PLUS:Experience with Tribon or Aveva MarineExperience with American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) Steel Vessel Rules, IMO Regulations, and US Coast Guard RequirementsExperience with ERP systems such as SAP or OracleInternational experience or familiarity with European andor Asian Shipbuilding Standards DAY TO DAY:This engineer will review, comment on, and approve production drawings and bills of material on a daily basis. These documents are created by a third-party design partner for all of the new build projects. The Engineer will be assigned to specific trades and areas of the ship such as machinery, piping, HVAC, steel outfitting, insulation, and accommodations. This person will develop drawings themselves on occasion and these drawings could be used for ship repair projects or to assist the field with support issues and design changes. You will also participate in the ship building planning process. This position will be onsite 5 days a week and the schedule is 9 hours Monday-Thursday, then a 4-hour shift and get out early on Friday. The team will work with you on what start time you prefer. It is important to note that most of the work you perform will be in the corporate office of this company.
