Environmental Health and Safety Officer:The EHS Officer is a key member of the high performing team that is bringing advanced lithium-ion battery technologies to market including development of the proprietary manufacturing system to produce these products. 24m's engineering development programs are fast paced, requiring the person in this role to move quickly and confidently, ensuring colleagues have the resources available to safely, efficiently, and effectively complete team goals.The successful candidate will lead efforts to continuously improve a strong culture of safety across all departments at 24m. Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to expand technical, product, process and regulatory knowledge are required, as are a strong work ethic and attention to detail. The EHS Officer role at 24m is a high impact, highly visible role; the successful candidate must thrive in that environment. The role will report to the Director of Engineering Operations.Responsibilities:Assume responsibility for safe operations in a fast-paced R&D and pilot production environment by championing culture of safety daily with colleaguesPerform incident investigations with support from technical teams, driving corrective actions to implementationLead development and maintenance of hazardous materials management programs ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and 24m operating proceduresOversee selection and maintenance of critical safety equipment, collaborating with Manufacturing leadership and Facilities Manager when necessaryAssume ownership of Process Safety Management at 24m including PHA, PSSR, JSA, and NMI program.Lead training of new and existing employees to all EHS programs, best practices, and 24m policies. Develop and maintain training resources including live and virtual training optionsAct as a technical resource for workplace safety including handling of hazardous materials, chemical hygieneHAZCOM, OSHA, and other applicable regulations as neededAssist Facility and Operations Managers with capital asset installationsOther responsibilities as assignedRequired Skills and ExperienceApproaches their work with an "ownership mindset", enthusiastic about making the role their own and the many opportunities for high visibility and highly influential projects.Ability to work well with different user groups, tailoring the approach as needed.5+years directly related work experience. Highly qualified and motivated candidates with less experience will be considered.Lithium-ion manufacturing experience preferred.Experience with Process Safety Management preferred.Demonstrated working knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulations including OHSA, EPA, DEP, DOT.Demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of effective, technical training materials specific to EHS.Demonstrated history of having a strong attention to detail, implementation of novel solutions, and ability to adapt.Thrives in a fast-paced environment. Exercises good time management and prioritization skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills required.Desired Skills: Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) CertificationCertified or Associate Safety Professional (CSPASP) CertificationCertified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) CertificationEducationBachelor's degree in a related fieldPhysical and Environmental StandardsCapable of working in a low moisture dry room environment as required: Capable of wearing clean room attire when working in dry room environment: face mask, hair net, safety glasses, gloves, coverall suit and shoe coversCapable of meeting OSHA standards for manual lifting guidelines:
