About the Role:As a Structural Engineer you'll play a pivotal role in designing and overseeing the structural integrity of renewable energy and substation projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations.Key Responsibilities:Develop comprehensive structural engineering plans, details, and calculations for substation projects, adhering to local, state, and federal regulations.Design concrete foundations and steel structures, including standard shapes and tapered tubular sections.Demonstrate a deep understanding of NESC transmission loads and loading combinations.Apply advanced knowledge of substation general arrangements and dependently evaluate, select, and apply engineering principles and practices.Oversee multiple projects, ensuring quality and adherence to standards.Serve as the primary point of contact for project teams on assigned portfolios.Develop work plans and manage discipline team members.Act as the Engineer of Record for substation projects.Provide cross-functional support to the PVBESS team on solar and storage projects.Mentor and guide less experienced team members.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or Engineering Technology.Professional Engineering Licensure (PE) highly preferred; SE licensure is a plus.4+ years of experience in substation structural engineering design.Proficiency in software tools like RISA 2D3DFoundation, Enercalc, L-PILE, or similar.Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards (ASCE 113, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360341, IBC, NDS).Ability to interpret site studies, geotechnical reports, and engineering -depth understanding of steel structures, drilled piers, and shallow foundations.
