Position: Senior Substation EngineerLocation: Phoenix, AZ (REMOTE - Must reside in Arizona)Summary:Looking for an experienced Substation Engineer with knowledge in Substation Physical and Controls design and experience in Project Engineering to work with the Substation Transmission Engineering teamThe successful candidate will join a group of other experienced Substation Engineers to execute capital projects at the Transmission Voltage Level throughout the state of ArizonaRecord growth in the Transmission sector entails new Extra High Voltage (EHV) interconnections and large customer-driven projectsExperience with MS Excel and Primavera P6 is preferredThis position is Remote, with occasional onsite work as needed, in Phoenix, AZKey Responsibilities:Prepares engineering plans, designs, analysis, specifications, cost estimates, evaluations, studies, technical reviews, investigations and verificationsComplies with design, regulatory, operating and maintenance requirementsEnsures engineering analyses, design, project control, schedule commitments, or oversight work is technically sound, cost effective, and in compliance with established standards, codes, and regulationsChecks and reviews analysis, evaluations, and investigations of othersInterfaces with customers and other departments to ensure project objectives are understood and that work scope meets customer requirements, budget and scheduleContacts customers and various levels of management to obtain or present technical dataPresents the results of designs, studies projects (in terms of new techniques) or approaches to subordinates, colleagues, management and customersEnhances department performance and productivity andor unit performance by formulating, coordinating, performing analysis and making recommendations for improvementsProvides technical assistance and guidance to department personnel to enhance department performance and productivityMay provide oversight of engineering technical programs by managing the program requirements, working with cross organizational partners, reviewing and internalizing operating experience and coordinating corrective actions to ensure engineering program elements continue to remain healthyMay assume responsibility for small- to medium-scale projects, which include planning, designing, scheduling and coordinating all facets of the projectIdentifies potential schedule or quality problems and initiates corrective actionTakes initiative to eliminate barriers and uses resources to ensure desired resultsMay interface with outside agencies and regulatory authoritiesProvides technical guidance and leadership to less experienced engineersMay participate in developing long-range strategies for significant site problemsProvides input to projects and recommends modifications to increase operating efficiency andor reviews design and documentation of projects to ensure compliance with design specifications, schedules, and any regulatory requirementsRemains cognizant of current technology and engineering developments as well as industry and competitive developmentsQualifications:5+ years of experience in Engineering-related positions5+ years of Substation Physical & Controls design experienceIndependently drive Physical and Controls designs for electrical Substations throughout design and construction phases (both new construction and upgradesretrofits)Oversee design of extra high, high, and medium voltage electrical SubstationsOversee the production of one-line diagrams, conceptual designs, plan-section drawings, foundation, grounding, specifications, schematics, wiring diagrams, and any additional drawings needed to complete a comprehensive set of construction documents to build Substations of varying sizes and voltagesWork amongst a cross-discipline design team, owners, and contractors to develop drawings and specificationsCoordinate with external vendors, design firms, internal design teams, and manufacturersMajor equipment selectionDevelop estimates and refine scope of work from sponsorsExperience with MS Excel and Primavera P6 is preferredBachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent real-world work experience will be consideredCompany Description:Paradigm Technology is a strategic Professional Services organization which primarily focuses on delivering high value solutions in Digital and Business Transformation.
