Join the Pacsun Community.Learn more here: LinkedIn- Our CommunityAbout the Job:The Point of Sale (POS) Temp is a technical subject matter expert (SME) who supports the store business with technology by providing careful management of daily store hardware requests. They are a liaison with business users on hardware needs and are a critical member of key initiatives by assisting with the successful hardware deployment of IT Projects.A day in the life, what you'll be doing:Manage the ticketing queue and appropriately prioritize the resolution of store issues and requestsResponsible for the configuration and setup of store hardware (Registers, Mobile, RFID, Peripherals, etc.), ensuring the hardware is built, packaged and ready for deployment.Hardware test and troubleshoot as neededManage the shipment and receipt of store hardwareBrings awareness to issues and prioritizes workload with their Sr. Store Applications Manager.Develops expertise in the store ecosystem in order to become a reliable subject matter expertIf participating on a project Communicates status of project to Project Manager, Technical Owner, or Technical Lead who is managing the work.Performs unit and system testing before handing over to users for end user testing.Configures store hardware and ships out to stores as needed.Supports the project through sustainment and hyper care, then maintains ongoing support as neededProvide training and documentation to team members to assure a scalable support model What it takes to Join: Pursuing or completed a degree in Business Management, Retail Merchandising, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field is preferred3 months to 2 years' experience working in information technology doing application analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, or support3 months to 2 years' working in retail and an in-depth knowledge of the retail business processes is preferredAbility to work in a team environment, collaborating with Project managers, technical leads, vendors, business users and leadership.Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, including understanding and analysis of dataRole models leadership behaviors for partners and peersThe following skills are important to the success of the POS Temp:Listening skills - the ability to understand what people say.Analytical skills- the ability to critically evaluate the information from multiple sources and breakdown high-level information into details.Observational skills - the ability to validate data obtained via other techniques and expose new areas for elicitation.Writing skills - the ability to communicate information effectively to customers, managers, and technical anizational skills - the ability to work with the vast array of information gathered during analysis and to cope with rapidly changing terpersonal skills - the ability to help set priorities.Modeling skills - the ability to represent technical requirement and design informationAbility to actively participate in meetings with business partners and peers.Must be available to work as needed to honor project commitments, meet deadlines, and support assigned business areas (nights and weekends)Ability to be flexible to the rapidly changing needs of the department and company.Proficient using Microsoft Office products.Salary Range: $20 - $25hour Pac Perks:Dog friendly office environmentOn-site CafeOn-site Gym$1,000 referral incentive programGenerous associate discount of 30-50% off merchandise online and in-storesCompetitive long term and short-term incentive programImmediate 100% vested 401K contributions and employer matchCalm Premium access for all employeesEmployee perks throughout the yearPhysical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that are required by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear. Position TypeExpected Hours of Work:This is a full-time position. As a National Retailer, occasional evening andor weekend work may be required during periods of high volume.
