A little bit about the projects: Vineyard Offshore (VO) brings industry-leading experience to the emerging US-based offshore wind market. Owned by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, half of the joint venture behind the Vineyard Wind 1 project, Vineyard Offshore is focused on developing projects that will deliver clean, renewable, and cost-effective offshore wind power around North America. In addition to Vineyard Wind 1, Vineyard Offshore currently owns three additional US lease areas that together can generate at least 3.5 gigawatts of offshore wind to power a minimum of 2 million homes along the Northeastern, Mid-Atlantic and Northern California coasts. A little bit about Department: External Affairs leads Vineyard Offshore's external presence at the local and state level. This function represents company policy and stakeholder initiatives with the goal of creating opportunities for VO while engaging with key stakeholders to secure a development path. External Affairs consists of Communications, Government and Regulatory Affairs, Labor and Workforce Planning, and Community Engagement teams. A little bit about the Job: Location: Boston Schedule: (Hybrid - 3 days in the office, 2 days wherever! Travel requirements: 25% Domestically Employment Type: Full-time, salaried, permanent Reports to: Senior Director of Grid Policy & Strategy What you'll do: Establish and implement policy strategies in relation to OSW policy Monitor and report on policy developments, and develop approaches to allow the business to adapt to ever changing policy developments Promote Vineyard Offshore's interests as they relate to the energy policy evolution (drafting filings, presentations, memos for internal and external use) Collaborate with regional team members and other departments to support both the commercial and executive teams and to understand markets as they relate to policy development Influence energy policy developments through direct contacts, networking and industry organizations Monitor and participate in state legislative and regulatory agency proceedings, including the review of legislation and regulatory filings and orders, and writing comments and testimony Coordinate with the other teams within the business to effectively manage and influence policy positions and outcomes- Federal Policy, Commercial, Development, Communications, etc. What you'll bring: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business Administration, Political Science or related concentration; advanced degree is preferred Minimum of five years of public policy and regulatory or legislative experience Demonstrated knowledge and experience with legislative, government and regulatory advocacy Strong relationships and extensive network with other energy policy and environmental stakeholders will be highly valued Willingness to travel domestically, estimated at 25% Keen political acuity, as well as knowledge of power and environmental markets Ability to effectively collaborate with trade associations, coalitions, and outside consultants as well as an internal team of professionals Ability to resolve differences, build relationships, and achieve targeted results Demonstrated experience in project/case management and working on projects.
