Salary : $57,969.60 - $72,550.40 Annually Location : th Street West Rosemount, MN Job Type: Full Time Remote Employment: Flexible/Hybrid Job Number: Department: Finance Opening Date: 09/26/2024 Position Summary This position will remain open until filled with application review to begin on October 14th, 2024. Performs accounting work involving accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipting, data entry, records maintenance and processing, preparation of routine statements or reports, general accounting activities, payroll processing. Work is performed under the supervision of the Accounting Supervisor. Essential Duties Review invoices, determine due dates, verify sales tax is computed correctly. Enter invoices into the accounts payable system after matching invoices with packing slips and/or purchase orders and distributing for approval. Review bills where automatic pay is enables to ensure charges are correct and approved. Investigate and resolve discrepancies. Generate checks and accompanying reports for approved disbursements, distribute checks, file and scan documentation for archiving. Process exception items including bill backs and credit memos. Research and answer questions regarding the status of accounts and payments, the proper coding of transactions, and other related matters. Maintains vendor files, including new vendor verification, vendor credit applications, new account set-up, W-9 collection, and scanning final vendor records. Prepares and files required tax forms including 1099s, sales and use tax, and petroleum tax. Researches and prepares annual unclaimed property reporting. Sends and responds to associated correspondence and files unclaimed property forms. Create and issue accounts receivable invoices per City contracts and policies and bill-back items as appropriate. Identify delinquent accounts and follow-up to acquire payment. Maintain accounts receivable files. Assists with the administration of the City's employee credit card program. Assist with cash receipting. Assist with payroll processing and filing of required payroll reports as needed. Assist with annual audit work paper preparation related to accounts payable and accounts receivable. Provides backup for the fixed assets and records management functions. Performs other duties as needed or assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Associates/Technical degree in accounting or finance-related field or equivalent combination of experience and training. One to three years of experience in accounting, finance or a related field. Valid driver's license. Supplemental Information Working Conditions Physical Requirements and Activity This work requires the frequent exertion of up to 10 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions and occasionally requires standing, walking and reaching with hands and arms.
