Summary: The Reality Labs (RL) Research Team brings together a world-class team of researchers, developers, and engineers to create the future of AR and VR, which together will become as universal and essential as smartphones and personal computers are today. We are developing all the technologies needed to enable breakthrough AR glasses and VR headsets, including computer vision, graphics, body tracking, perception science, and true telepresence. The Virtual Humans team in Sausalito, CA, Redmond, WA and Zurich, CF work on cutting-edge research and development focusing on virtual people and presence. We envision a world where people connect across vast distances so our roles focus on capturing, evaluating and modeling the full human body shape and motion. We are currently seeking innovative interns with a passion for technology to develop the next generation of virtual humans.Our internships are twelve (12) to twenty four (24) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year.Research Topics:* Physics-based simulation for body, cloth and hair* Deformable object modeling, volumetric representation* Full body animation and tracking* Non-rigid registration* Differentiable simulation, neural representations* Applied machine learning* Realistic rendering, perceptual evaluation Required Skills: Research Intern, Body, Cloth and Hair Modeling and Simulation (PhD) Responsibilities: Design and execution of algorithms Investigate, design and develop novel algorithms in areas such as full body, cloth and hair modeling, simulation and animation, surface and volumetric reconstructions, for avatars, digital humans and virtual try-on applications Prototyping, building and analysis of experimental systems Collaboration with and support of other researchers across various disciplines Communication of research agenda, progress and results Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a PhD in Computer Vision, Graphics, Machine Learning, Robotics, or related field Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment Interpersonal skills: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration Experience with computer vision, 3D geometry, character animation and/or linear algebra 2+ years of experience with C, C++, and/or Python Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications: Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship 2+ years of experience with one or more of the following areas: developing models for physics-based simulation, MPM, 3D geometry reconstruction, non-rigid deformation, shape representation, numerical optimization, deep learning 2+ years experience with character animation, perceptual evaluation and/or avatar evaluation Proven track record of achieving results as demonstrated in accepted papers at top computer vision, graphics, machine learning or robotics related journals and conferences such as SIGGRAPH, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, etc. Public Compensation: $7,500/month to $11,333/month + benefits Industry: Internet Equal Opportunity: Meta is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
