Job Title: Design Engineer - Glass Fabrication Location: Upper Sandusky, Ohio & Fostoria, OH Position Type: Full-Time (3-4 days per week on-site) Reports To : Design Engineering Manager - Glass Fabrication About Us : We are a leading glass fabrication manufacturer specializing in tempered and laminated glass for various transportation markets, including automotive, bus, heavy truck, RV, UTV, marine, and more. Our state-of-the-art facilities and innovative approach provide a dynamic environment for engineers to thrive and grow. Job Summary : We are seeking a highly motivated and self-driven Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in launching new products and designing glass solutions for diverse transportation markets. This position offers a unique opportunity to apply engineering skills in exciting industries such as powersports and bullet-resistant glazing. No specific glass experience is required as we provide comprehensive training. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop new glass products for various transportation markets. Provide tooling and process input to support manufacturing operations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability. Mentor and guide process engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for design and process issues. Prepare and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in glass fabrication and glazing technologies. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or an Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related field. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Desire to have individual flexibility and contribute to team success. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with CAD/CAM design and proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks). Familiarity with industrial, manufacturing, or engineering principles and practices. Understanding of manufacturing processes, including tooling and process optimization. Experience with quality control methods and root cause analysis. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing designs. Excellent project management and organizational skills
