Sr. Custody & Pledging Services Location : Jersey City, NJ Salary : 85-100K +7% Bonus The successful candidate must have the following: 2+ years within Custody and Pledging Services, including reconciliation, customer service, problem solving, efficient, transaction processing/monitoring/settlement, former DTCC/Bloomberg engagements, mergers/acquisitions, Excel, query generation to reconcile data. Assertive customer service skills/strong people skills / Be detail-oriented. Proactive Approach. Have back-office bank operations experience. Support advances by ensuring members remain fully collateralized. Process and track member securities for Free, bank-pledged, or third-party pledged holdings. Provide support and service to members for securities and collateral operations. Actively pursue resolutions for Member issues; follow up and report results in regular updates to the CPS Manager. Act as a liaison between the department and its Member accounts. Actively interact with the Custodial Bank and its administration to resolve issues concerning daily settlements, corporate actions, security income, or any other problems that may arise throughout the day. Take the lead on Custodial Bank system issues and problems that occur, which are not part of the ordinary course of the day. Monitor daily transactions for customers. Process transactions for customers, ensuring appropriate customer service is being addressed on both customer requests and proactive initiatives. Ensure Members are fully collateralized daily. Job Function : Interact with Custodial Bank's officers and administration to resolve any day-to-day issues with settlements, customer reports, customer set-up, and other problems that may arise throughout the business day, as well as any out-of-the-ordinary issues that may occur, such as system failures, missing deliverables, and special projects. Continually monitor trade accuracy, including the department's physical security settlement and income processing standards. Liaison with Banking regarding settlement issues or missing paperwork and keep the member abreast of current trade status. Proactively keep customer accounts abreast of changes to Industry Standards and Practices, such as extended settlement deadlines, payment delays, and new security types (e.g., Reverse Mortgages, Sinking Funds, etc.). Maintain the overall level of operational effectiveness and increase customer service by acting as a liaison between CPS and the Member institutions and initiating customer outreach when applicable. Assist Members through more complex processes such as trade fairs, settlements, SafeWord card issues, and other recurring Member issues. Create and verify Margin Calls for Customer Accounts. Ensure all accounts comply with collateral standards by the end of every day. Assemble and verify the Daily Under-Collateralized Report. Ensure all accounts comply with collateral standards by the end of the day and report any not in compliance promptly. Skills & Experience : Seven+ years experience in a financial institution with at least 2 years working within Custody and Pledging Services (CPS) Moderate to solid knowledge of the Securities Industry. Strong experience with customers and third-party vendors. Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word. Proficient with Windows Bloomberg & API Functions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Moderate to a solid working knowledge of the securities industry. Securities clearing, as well as mortgage and custody services, are required. Strong experience with customer service, including external customers (vendors). Experience with problem resolution and follow-up competencies is a must. Experience with project work and back office or Operations department experience.
