Summary of Responsibilities:The Associate working for the Global Trade Finance Latam team at BBVA New York will support the Product Specialists with the marketing, origination, structuring and execution of Trade Finance solutions to BBVA's Global Corporate Clients and Financial Institutions, primarily focused on Brazil, which include but are not limited to:Letters of Credit (issuance, confirmation, advising of Documentary Letters of Credit, Stand-By LCs, Documentary Collections, etc.)ReceivablesPayables Finance: Supply Chain Finance Confirming, Receivable Purchase Programs Factoring Vendor Factoring, Forfaiting Structured Forfaiting (discount without recourse of instruments of payment such as LCs, receivables, bills of exchange, promissory notes, etc.)Credit Enhanced Short-Term Facilities: ECAs, Private Insurance, MultilateralsPrepayment and Pre-export FinanceSilent GuaranteesSustainable Trade Finance and Working Capital solutions within the Global Transaction Banking ESG Framework (GTB Sustainability Framework)MajorEssential Job Duties:Support the origination of Global Trade Finance and Working Capital transactions primarily with our Brazil Global Clients, as well as Brazil Subsidiaries of our Global ClientsParticipate in the team's marketing activities by preparing marketing material, including presentations, for our clients as well as statistics for internal purposesAssist in evaluating business opportunities, putting together tailor-made structures and preparing internal proposalsNegotiation of credit agreements, promissory notes, letters of credit and other credit documentsCoordinate onboarding of clients, execution and funding of transactions, working with partners across the organization to deliver seamless Trade Finance solutions to clients, including but not limited to the following: Global Corporate Bankers, Legal, Compliance, Onboarding, Credit Risk, Operations and Funding Desk.Maintain a strict portfolio management control; interact with business development units for reporting purposesMaintain direct contact with our affiliated banks for support of funding needsAssist with internal presentations regarding strategy, budget, performance, etc.Assist in product development and creation of alternative structuresConduct independent research on corporate and industry sectorsSkills, knowledge, abilitiescompetencies:Technical Skills:An ideal candidate has a minimum of 2-3 years of Global Trade Finance experience, with a focus on Brazil off-shore transactionsBachelor degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field.Fluent in English and Spanish (both oral and written), and business proficient in Portuguese (preferred)Intermediate knowledge and understanding of Global Trade Finance and Working Capital products and business, and the GTB Sustainability FrameworkKnowledge andor formal credit training and solid analytical financial background in order to understand and determine the risk and profitability of client solutionsExcellent communication and presentation skillsStrong interpersonal and teamwork skillsProficient in Microsoft Office Tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint in order to deliver high-quality presentations to clientsAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.With respect to this position in our New York Office, the expected base salary ranges from $110,000 to $120,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.*Employment eligibility to work with BBVA in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions
