The Claims Manager will play a crucial role overseeing and managing all facets of claims across a diverse portfolio while supporting the company's insurance and risk management programs. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in claims management within the real estate or construction industry, coupled with exceptional analytical and negotiation skills.Responsibilities:Manage and oversee all insurance claims and related processes for affordable and market-rate multi-family residential and commercial properties.Support the Director of Risk Management with insurance renewals, risk management policies and procedures, and projects as needed.Review and evaluate insurance policies and coverage to ensure adequate coverage and validity of vestigate claims and gather necessary documentation and evidence with the collaboration of internal departments, insurance adjusters, and outside counsel.Maintain accurate records and documentation of all claim activities, including litigation, and communications.Monitor claims, maintain claim and litigation reports and run point on claim review meetings with key stakeholders.Negotiate settlements and manage claim payments within established budgets and timelines.Support the Director of Risk Management with insurance renewals, risk management policies and procedures, and projects as needed.Develop and implement strategies to minimize claim exposure and mitigate risks.Analyze claim trends and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.Stay informed about industry developments and regulations related to insurance and claims management.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Construction Management, or related field.Self-starter and team player who needs little direction and is focused on developing, and executing on creative solutions.Strong understanding of insurance policies, coverage terms, claims handling procedures, and litigation management in the real estate or related industry.Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and trends.Effective communication skills with the ability to present findings and recommendations to senior management.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Certification in Insurance or Risk Management (e.g., ARM, CPCU) is a plus.Diversity in backgrounds and experiences is key to Fairstead's growth and success.
