Qualifications | Who We're Looking For Are you an undergraduate student majoring in Agriculture, Business, or a related field? Do you have previous experience in agriculture, research, or farming? If so, we want to hear from you! Please note that this internship involves both indoor and outdoor work. You will spend part of your time working indoors in a warehouse environment, with the remainder of the internship conducted outdoors in varying weather conditions. We are looking for candidates who possess the following skills and qualifications: • Strong work ethic and professionalism • Knowledge in field crop production and field/research equipment • Corn breeding and seed production methods and techniques • Research plot and testing techniques used in hybrid evaluation • Organizational skills. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Proficiency in computer technology • Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines • Uncompromising integrity and honesty • Responsible driving record. Key Responsibilities | The Research Intern will spend the summer embedded in our Research Department. Under the supervision of a mentor, the Research Intern will plan, conduct, and summarize agronomic experiments. • Execute Research Plans in the Field : Assist in research test site selection, cooperator communication, planting, upkeep, note taking, and harvest. Additionally, assist in nursery and experimental seed production activities. • Execute Research Plans in the Laboratory : Assist in preparation of research materials and activities in the lab. This includes seed preparation, inventory, organization, packaging, field layouts, and all associated manual and computer-generated lists, labels, maps, stakes, and books for yield trials, experimental production, and nurseries. • Information Data Summarization : Organize and analyze data/information files and prepare required reports • Special Projects: Perform special projects that are assigned by the Research Team throughout the time you are here.
