DescriptionWE OFFER UNION Perks such as Top of the line Health Benefits, Retirement Plan, 401k, Paid Vacation/Sick DaysPOSITION SUMMARY: Performs repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment to maximize safe and productive RESPONSIBILITIES:The following responsibilities are general duties that a particular employee in this position may or may not be required to perform. The actual duties required of this position will vary.•Diagnoses mechanical problems.•Performs repairs and maintenance on electric, diesel and gasoline vehicles including compactor, excavator, and other vehicles to maximize safe and productive operations. Typical repairs include, but are not limited to, routine maintenance and repair of engines, transmissions, chassis, driveline, and body components, hydraulic systems, brake systems, electrical systems, suspension systems, wheels, tires and undercarriages.•Performs preventive maintenance and equipment upgrades.•Reads and interprets equipment condition reports and/or repair orders, communicates with supervisor and/or operator for clarification of problems and discusses preventive techniques with operators to minimize future repairs.•Completes paperwork associated with repairing equipment, documenting parts usage, and accounting for applied times (i.e. work order times versus time card times).•Completes daily consumables report to record hours, fuel, and oil usage, and provides information for input to Computerized Fleet Analysis system (TMW).•Interprets oil samples, schedules and repairs equipment components.•Follows all safety policies and procedures.•Perform overhauls on gas or diesel engines.•Performs other job-related duties as assigned.RequirementsTYPICAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:The following physical activities or abilities are commonly, but not always, associated with the performance of this position. The actual requirements of this position will vary.•Lift, carry and push/pull at least 75 pounds.•Climb into and out of equipment.EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION:Required:•Equivalent of (1) high school diploma or G.E.D. certification and 1 year of related heavy equipment maintenance; OR (2) 4 years of related heavy equipment maintenance.•Valid driver license, CDL a plus.•Ability to operate heavy equipment.Preferred:•Mechanical or trade school certificate.•Certificate in electronic diagnostics.•ASE certificate.•Welding and/or fabrication skills.Benefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offRetirement planVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shift10 hour shift12 hour shiftDay shiftEvening shiftMonday to FridayOvertimeWeekends as neededPeople with a criminal record are encouraged to applyLicense/Certification:Driver's License (Preferred)Work Location: In person
