Vocational & Entitlement Counselor - Individual Placement & Support (IPS) Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Program Full-time: Monday-Friday 9a-5p Salary: $26/hour Glen Cove, NY CHARLES EVANS CENTER, INC. The Charles Evans Center (CEC) is a leading not-for-profit located in Nassau County. CEC assists adults diagnosed with mental illness in reaching the highest level of independence with the freedom to ASPIRE HIGHER in their hopes, dreams and accomplishments. We are currently seeking a few exceptional people who have a passion to create a meaningful impact in the lives of the amazing people we support. We have a great opportunity for a positive, motivated individual to work in a multi-disciplinary, mobile outpatient OMH program with a specialty in health and self-wellness activities and initiatives for ACT recipients. In this position, you will: Provide the non-billable Individual Placement and Support (IPS) services and activities. Systematic job development and networks with employers. Work with prospective employers to develop employment opportunities for the individual. Provide job coaching and other interventions targeted to helping the client succeed in a specific job-related task. Complete benefits counseling, paperwork, or applications on a client's behalf. Conduct vocational or career focused assessments. Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in a related field strongly preferred. Minimum 2 years of OMH or related experience. Ability to travel independently to meet clients. Valid NYS driver's license with a clean driving record. We look forward to talking with you!
